Developing Expertise in Assessing Primary Science

This full-day, face-to-face course will support science subject leaders and assessment leads to explore a range of strategies for the assessment and moderation of primary science.

Science subject leaders and assessment leads who attend this course will:

• understand the purpose of assessment
• reflect on their current assessment procedures
• explore the relationship between formative and summative assessment
• be introduced to a range of strategies for the assessment of substantive and disciplinary knowledge
• have an opportunity to explore resources that support the moderation of primary science assessment judgements.
