Developing Expertise in Leading Science

This half-day, face-to-face course will support new science subject leaders, or those with 1-2 years’ experience, to understand and carry out the responsibilities of their role. Science subject leaders who attend this course will:

• understand how to lead science effectively in their school
• explore processes for auditing the teaching and learning of science to identify areas requiring development
• reflect on how to lead change to support the effective delivery of the science curriculum
• be prepared to talk confidently to Ofsted and other stakeholders about science teaching and learning in their school.

In addition, it will provide opportunities for participants to share the teaching and learning of science taking place in their school with peers to learn from one another.
