All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. The training will ensure that:

• you have an understanding of your strategic role within the governing body in relation to safeguarding, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, and the Ofsted inspection framework
• the number of areas of your responsibilities with regard to ensuring compliance with the law
• multi-agency working, that staff, undergo relevant training, appropriate appointment of staff in relation to leading safeguarding arrangements
• robust policies and procedures being in place
• recognising the importance of information sharing
• developing awareness of high risk safeguarding areas such as peer on peer abuse and online safety
• considering whistleblowing safer recruitment and appropriate management of allegations against staff.

As a safeguarding link governor, I found the training was very helpful and I particularly liked the action plan presented. Will be using that to help my school in their strategic planning.

This briefing will recap on the requirements of school leaders and governors in providing relationship sex education which aligns with their school’s Christian vision and identity. The LDBS policy and guidance will be shared, along with some resources which can be used to support the teaching of RSE.

Statutory requirement for education professionals meeting ‘robust 2-yearly training’ for those with a lead or designated professional role for safeguarding in schools. Having completed basic safeguarding training, this course equips professionals to perform their senior safeguarding function in schools.

• Latest legislation and procedures – reflecting the Education Acts and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023
• Policy development
• Awareness of multi-agency working
• Information sharing
• The referral processes
• Thresholds or risk analysis within the context of children and young people
• Management of safeguarding with staff and within schools – including the response to sexual violence and sexual harassment
• Challenging topics are also explored from a management level

I really enjoyed the format of the training in comparison to others I have attended. Lots of strategic ideas to take away and tangible actions to work through as a team. Thank you.
